Creating a Pack - Welfare Details & Nearest Hospital
Ensuring the well-being of your team is paramount in any railway operation. Accurail helps you plan and communicate essential welfare information through two key components: Welfare Details and Nearest Hospital information. Let's explore how to effectively use these features in your Safe Work Pack (SWP):
Welfare Details

The Welfare Details section is a free text box where you can provide comprehensive information about the welfare arrangements for your work site.
Best Practices for Welfare Details:
- Be specific and clear in your descriptions
- Consider the duration of work and time of year when planning welfare arrangements
- Refer to NR/L3/INI/CP0036
Nearest Hospital

The Nearest Hospital information is crucial for emergency planning. Accurail helps streamline this process:
- When you select an official access point in the Access & Egress section, the system automatically pulls through information about the nearest hospital.
- This feature ensures you always have quick access to this vital information.
Key points about the Nearest Hospital feature:
Automatic Population:
- The nearest hospital details are automatically filled based on your selected official access point.
Information Provided:
- Hospital name
- Full address
Custom Access Points:
- If you're using a custom access point, the system won't automatically populate hospital information.
- In this case, you should manually enter the nearest hospital details.
Verification:
- Always verify the accuracy of the hospital information, even when automatically populated.
- Consider factors like traffic and potential route closures when estimating travel time to the hospital.
Best Practices for Nearest Hospital Information:
- If using a custom access point, research and input the nearest hospital information manually.
- Include any specific routing instructions if the quickest route to the hospital isn't obvious.
- Consider including information about the nearest minor injuries unit or walk-in centre for less severe incidents.
