Assurance Checkers

Assurance Checkers

Assurance Checkers review Safe Work Packs at key stages in the workflow before they can progress to the next step.

Company Feature

Assurance checking is an optional feature that needs to be enabled by your company administrator. If you can't see assurance check options on your dashboard, get in touch with your administrator.

What Is Assurance Checking?

Assurance checking adds a review step to the Safe Work Pack lifecycle. When it's turned on, Assurance Checkers look over packs to make sure they meet quality and compliance standards before the pack can move on.

There are two points where assurance checks can happen:

  • Pre-Verification Assurance Check: after the Planner sends the pack, but before PIC verification
  • Post-Authorisation Assurance Check: after the Responsible Manager authorises the pack, but before it becomes available for the shift

Your company may have one or both of these enabled depending on what's needed.

Assurance Check Process

Step-by-step guide to reviewing, approving, and rejecting Safe Work Packs as an Assurance Checker.

Quick Start

  1. Check your email for assurance check notifications when a pack needs your review
  2. Visit the dashboard and click the "Packs Awaiting Assurance" card to see your queue
  3. Review the pack to make sure it meets quality and compliance standards
  4. Approve or reject the pack. If you're rejecting, give a clear reason so the Planner knows what to fix

Role Requirements

To perform assurance checks, you need the Assurance Checker role on your account. Your company administrator can assign this through user management settings.

Conflict of Interest

You can't perform an assurance check on a pack where you're the Planner, Person in Charge, or Responsible Manager. This is to make sure every pack gets an independent review.
